Beating The YouTube Slap
Well it finally happened. The YouTube Ban Hammer has been slapping accounts left and right with no end in site. No official warnings, no mercy and massive pain for many. Deleted accounts, banned I.P.’s etc. I tried to warn people and was ridiculed as were a small minority of other marketers and SEO junkies.
Meanwhile, my videos are still at the top, as usual, and most of my ex-competitors are nowhere to be seen.
For those who did not see or prepare for beating the YouTube Slap, times are tough. Some people have lost 2 years or more of work in an instant and their entire online business has come to a halt because their primary or even worse yet – only marketing strategy was YouTube.
However, it is not a total surprise to those who have been paying attention for the past year. The signals were everywhere and quite noticeable. A new era has dawned for internet and affiliate marketing, especially video marketers. One word comes to mind…Relevance.
It doesn’t matter if it is a blog, a website or a video. It needs to be relevant to it’s stated purpose and truly supplying something of value. Not just a pure marketing message or sales pitch. Gone are the days of throwing enough s*** against the wall and hoping something sticks.
Keyword spamming, RSS and backlink bots, view adders, comment adders etc. have gone by the wayside. If they are still working, they won’t be for long. And if you are using one, you need an exit strategy and fast.
Since the shake-up, it is a whole new landscape on YouTube. Now is a better time than ever to get in there and post videos. Just be smart about it. I have not posted any videos in a couple of months because I knew the beast was near. Sometimes, caution pays off. Even when you know you’re doing everything above board.
I’ve posted several videos on my channel explaining the process of video marketing. Nothing to buy or sign up for. No tricks or upsells. Just value…
Check it out if successful video marketing interests you…..
